Anthony is thrilled to receive the official support of the Philadelphia Democratic City Committee. This endorsement by the Democratic Party shows the campaign is picking up amazing momentum and support across the city.

Philadelphia Bar Association

 

On March 1, 2019, the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention voted to rate Anthony Kyriakakis as “Highly Recommended” for Judge on the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court.  The Bar Association’s guideline states that the top rating is reserved for “extraordinary individuals” who “are preeminent in the profession, exceptionally skilled in the law, possess a reputation for the utmost integrity and significantly will enhance … the judiciary.”  Anthony is very honored to have received the Bar Association’s highest rating.

Philadelphia National Organization for Women (NOW)

 

Anthony received the endorsement of the National Organization for Women - Philadelphia (NOW). NOW works tirelessly to achieve and protect the equal rights of women and girls in all aspects of social, political, and economic life. Anthony is very proud and grateful to have the support of Philly NOW.

Liberty City Democrats


Philadelphia's LGBTQ+ political action committee, the Liberty City Democrats endorsed Anthony for Judge on the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Upon receiving their endorsement, Anthony said, "It's so important that we protect the civil rights of everyone in our city, including our LGBTQ+ residents, many of whom face significantly higher risks of discrimination. I'm proud to stand with our LGBTQ+ community today and every day, and it means a great deal to have this endorsement."

Governor Ed Rendell
 

Former Governor Ed Rendell endorsed Anthony for Judge in a special event Tuesday, April 16. At the event, Governor Rendell said, “We have a chance to elect someone who’s worked hard for people all his life. Who’s a great lawyer. Who I think would be an absolutely fantastic judge.”
 
Anthony is incredibly grateful to have the support of Governor Rendell, a true public servant who has been a decades-long advocate for Philadelphia.

Second Generation


Second Generation empowers immigrant communities to get involved in the political process. Board Chair Joe Khan said “Anthony is without a doubt one of the most qualified candidates for judge I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He has followed his American dream by always remembering where he came from and his obligation to lift up others as he rises.”
 
Anthony said upon receiving the endorsement, “I’ll ensure that all people in my courtroom, including those from immigrant communities, are treated equally — and with fairness and dignity.”

AFSCME District Council 47


AFSCME District Council 47 represents many Philadelphians, from City of Philadelphia employees to staff at Temple and Penn to employees at the Philadelphia Zoo.
 
District Council 47 also includes employees of the First Judicial District.
 
“It is especially meaningful to have the endorsement of people who could be my future colleagues. I appreciate their support and their confidence in me,” Anthony said.

Teamsters Joint Council 53

 

Teamsters Joint Council 53’s endorsement is especially meaningful for Anthony, whose father worked for decades as a Teamster.  “The Teamsters are the reason my dad was able to earn a good wage and benefits.  And when I was accepted into Yale University, it was the Teamsters who stepped up again with a four-year scholarship to help us pay tuition,” said Anthony.  “I am tremendously grateful to the Teamsters.  They are a shining example of how labor unions can give strength and opportunity to countless working-class Americans and their families.  And I am so proud to have Teamsters Joint Council 53’s support in this election.”

Philadelphia Fire Fighters and Paramedics Union


Anthony was honored to receive the endorsement of IAFF Local 22, the Philadelphia Fire Fighters and Paramedics Union. Anthony said of their endorsement, “These union members spend every day working to keep us safe and it means a lot to me to have their support for Judge of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.”
